How to work out how much sod you need
- Measure the area in feet and multiply length by width.
- Add 10 percent for cuts. Covers cuts around curves, beds and paths. Sod cannot be stretched to fill a gap and it has to be laid within a day or two of cutting, so a second delivery is a second trip.
- Divide by what one hand roll (2 ft x 5 ft) covers, and round up. Suppliers do not sell part units.
